Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy covers iDC GlucoPlan and insulindosescalculator.com, operated by K Digital Medical Health. Contact us about privacy at info@insulindosescalculator.com.

It explains information kept on your device, information sent when you use online food searches, and information you choose to send through our website or support email.

2. Your health information stays on your device

The app stores your profile, glucose readings, meal records, insulin calculations, settings, favourites and saved food library locally on your device. The current app does not automatically upload these records to us or provide us with remote access to your local database.

The Analytics charts are calculated from your local records. They are not an advertising or usage-tracking service. The app does not include advertising trackers or sell your personal information.

3. Camera, photos and barcode scanning

Camera and photo access are used when you choose to scan food or select an image. On iPhone and iPad, photo recognition and label reading use on-device recognition. The photo is not sent to a hosted AI service or to Open Food Facts by this feature.

When you look up a barcode online, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts. When you search using a food name, including words suggested from a photo, that search text is sent to Open Food Facts. Searching only your saved iDC food library stays on the device.

You can manage camera and photo permissions in your device settings.

4. Open Food Facts online searches

Open Food Facts is an independent food database. To return product information, the app sends the barcode or food search text and identifies the app name and version. As with an internet connection, the service receives your IP address and request information. The app does not attach your iDC profile, glucose readings, insulin calculations or meal history to these requests.

Open Food Facts states that it retains visitor IP addresses and logs for three years for security, technical analysis and popularity measurement. Its published policy does not specify every field retained in API logs; search terms and barcode numbers form part of the requests sent to it.

See the Open Food Facts privacy policy for its practices and rights requests. Its privacy contact is privacy@openfoodfacts.org. You can use locally saved foods without making an online food search.

5. Reports, backups and sharing

You can choose to export reports or backups and share them using another app or service. These files may contain personal and health information, including your profile, readings and meal or dose history. The recipient or service you select then handles the copy under its own privacy practices.

Exported files are not automatically protected by a separate iDC password. Store them somewhere you trust and check their contents before sharing. Device or cloud backups may also retain app data according to your device settings. Removing the app does not remove previously exported, shared or backed-up copies.

6. Website forms and support

Our expression-of-interest form requires your email address. Title, name, country, message and marketing consent are optional. We store the submitted fields, consent choice and submission time in Cloudflare D1. A notification containing the submission may be delivered to our team through our email service.

We use this information to record interest, respond to enquiries and, when you opt in, send updates or marketing. You can withdraw marketing consent by emailing support@insulindosescalculator.com.

If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you include. Please avoid sending health records unless they are needed for your enquiry and you intend to share them with us.

7. Website hosting and security

Cloudflare hosts the website and provides infrastructure and anti-abuse protection. Website requests expose technical information such as IP addresses and browser or request details to the hosting provider. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile; verification can include the visitor IP address. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

The website saves your light or dark theme preference in your browser. We do not include advertising pixels in the app or website. Hosting and security processing is separate from the local health charts in the app.

Service providers may process information outside your country. Their policies describe their processing locations and applicable international-transfer safeguards.

8. Payments

iDC GlucoPlan is offered through a one-time purchase, with no recurring subscription. Future major editions may be offered as separate paid apps; purchasing a new edition is optional. Payments and app-store account information are handled by the relevant app-store provider under its own privacy policy. The app does not ask you to enter payment-card details, and we do not receive your full card or bank details. The app-store provider may make sales and financial reports available to us for accounting and business administration.

9. Purposes and legal bases

For information we receive through the website or support, we rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries, administer expressions of interest and maintain service security; consent for optional marketing; and legal obligations where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Open Food Facts and other independent providers explain their own purposes and legal bases in their policies. Local processing of your records enables the app features you choose to use.

10. Storage, retention and deletion

Local app records remain until you delete them or remove the app’s local data. Copies in exports, device backups or recipients’ systems must be managed separately. We cannot retrieve or erase the local database remotely.

We retain website submissions and support correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or interest, honour your communication preferences and meet applicable legal requirements. You can request deletion by contacting us. Open Food Facts specifies its own three-year retention for visitor IP addresses and logs.

Website transmission uses HTTPS. Protect your device with its screen lock and keep exported files secure. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your privacy rights

Where applicable under data-protection law, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of information we hold, object to processing and withdraw consent. Contact info@insulindosescalculator.com. We normally respond within one month and will explain any permitted extension.

You may complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority. Requests concerning information held independently by Open Food Facts should also be directed to its privacy contact.

12. Children and medical information

Please follow the app’s age requirements and Terms & Conditions. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through the website or support, contact us so we can address it.
